shape
i've been pursuing a lifestyle of health;
a waxing a waning type of pursuit.
i'm currently trying to wax but fall victim to wane.
every time i take to the pavement, or grass, or carpet, or synthetic material, i have the same old thought go through my head.
"oh the glory days, where are you?"
i deeply ponder my past abilities that were long held taken for granted.
it started in elementary school, but i never realized it would die out so fast.
89 pull-ups on the monkey bars was nothing in those days. (and i mean literally because it's one of my finest physical accomplishments even if i was 7...)
then the long lost days of middle school and high school
where
running 3 miles came with ease
50 push-ups= no problem
shall i do 120 crunches in a minute?
ok, if you wish.
back-to-back basketball practices for 5 hours-
can we play another 10 hours?
the simple actions of yesteryear are long since gone and passed.
then college came around....
oh i took the summer off and you want me to bench press?
how bout a buck fifteen-
squats... 200 no problem
oh 100 push-ups? give me 3 minutes max
then shall we hardcore sprint 6 400's in a row?
1/2 mile repeat hill work out- just what i love;
yes, please.
oh the glory days.
my present days:
physical fitness death.
a recurring funeral for the lost glory days.
if i can run (which my definition of running has now become anything with a knee bend involved) 1 mile i feel complete physical success.
these arms can barely complete a girl push-up
my current hill workout?
i run in the rain gutter and instead of a straight course i run back and forth (pure success)
every time i attempt to start a workout my whole body begs for any other possible option.
such is my reality
physical depression, meets bodily obesity, collides with lost ability
it's a mess when all these things come together,
and they've found a happy home in yours truly.
so if any of ya'll have any quick fix trips for lack of workout motivation just send them this way.
i'm desperate for a motivational resolution that sticks.
happy mid-week you champions.
