a 2nd birthday

2 years of life.
i blinked and my once teeny girl is 2.
730 days of living.
which is no time but seems like she’s been here forever. (you all feel me- this time thing; disappears instantly and painstakingly slow at other times which then become instantly… it’s a confusing mess.)
i love birthdays.
i mean i really, really, really, love birthdays.
my birthday has always been my favorite “holiday”.
child's birthday is a trump card. (even if they’re only two.)
so new holiday favorite- favorite holidays deserve splendor galore.
a party had to be had.
even if she’ll never remember it- i’ll blog about it so she can look back and see that her birthday is my favorite day of the year.
cousins were a must. they are her bff’s.
horses needed to be involved- so they were naturally the theme.
then came the horse inspired party scheming.
horse invites
horse shirt to wear on her birthday
horse cake
bobbing for apples (because horses fancy that fruit you see).
pin the tail on the “horse” ok it was a donkey, but it’s a cousin.
then a horse pinada.
riley (the ring leader of the cousin crew) pinata destroyer.
then there was the greatest birthday serenade ever by a cousin violinist named violett
i never appreciated the glory of themed parties until mary came along- glorious, pure glory.
mary was more entertained by her aunt carlie and the swing set and an apple than she was with the glitz and glam, but the cousins seemed to have a solid time.
i renewed my love of birthday holidays today-
grateful every second of every day that I have mary.
she’s made me see the most beautiful simplicities of life.
she’s taught me the art of instant forgiveness and unwavering patience because she perfectly exhibits these qualities.
she’s showed me the lifestyle of constant progression.
she’s constantly renewing my ability to find happiness in everything.
she’s done all of this along with innumberable and unexplainable other things by barely saying a word.
an artist in life that creates masterpiece after masterpiece effortlessly.
being a mother has taught me more than anything else I’ve ever done.
thank you my mary for having me- happiest of 2nd birthdays.
you’re birthday can never ever be over celebrated.

i love you.
