a birthday eve

it is the eve of my teeny daughters second birthday.

she’s been ours forever but just a wink as well.

on such occasions a mini life recap is appropriate.

this is for you my sweet daughter.

you arrived and literally were a dream come true.

i’d waited for you my whole life and you were everything and more than I could have imagined.

you were born in las vegas.

at only a wee age of 2 months you moved to bicknell.

you flourished from birth.

advanced in every way- and always pleasantly surprising us.

we soaked in the country life and the proximity to family.

at 9 months you walked.

at 10 months we moved to new york city.

you became enamored with the city just like I did.

while we lived in nyc

you traveled to:

new jersey

connecticut

washington d.c.

las vegas

philadelphia

california

and

utah

you flew on a plane 6 times.

you also rode on a:

subway

bus

ferry

tram

train

horse carriage

and

taxi

we celebrated your first birthday while we were out east.

you and I saw a lot of country and a lot of nyc together. (you’re dad was busy with school so we became adventure comrades).

my tiny miss you’ve done more in your little life than I did in 25 years- and some ever do.

you love all things animal.

for a stretch of time you were petrified of the color purple. (it was my favorite all time fear ever)

you like snack time…..

midget may be your future- you ever being 6 feet tall is looking slim.

you’ve slept with us til just recently (and it’s been the greatest experience of your mama’s life.- I can feel the wrath of dale and all other anti-cosleepers surrounding me…. But honestly I miss snuggling with my little girl every night and every nap. I looked forward to it every day.)

sometimes you speak English, occasionally you’ll do a bit of sign language, but most often you’re dialect of choice is a mary original- it’s perfection.

you have a refined food taste- salsa, tomatoes, exotic cheeses, spicy foods are like nothing, fruits and vegetables are like candy, you love pretty much all things food.

you’re favorite small child meet and greet move is the tackle hug. (we’re working on that.)

you love horses- a lot, a lot.

tangled is your favorite movie.

you hiked all of spooky canyon by yourself- you really fancy canyoneering.

i’m amazed by you every day my sweet girl.

it’s been a pleasure being your mom.

there’s no other title I honor more and there’s no other person I’d rather have the privilege of raising.

thank you for making me happy every moment of every day (yes every moment.).
