2014 in review

2014.
it was quite the year.
ups and downs.
cross country moves.
lost expectations
new expectations.
life changes resulting in back tracking and forward moving.
first foreign travels.
experiences that taught me in ways i loved and ways i hated.
i wouldn't say 2014 was my favorite year.
i wouldn't say 2014 was my least favorite year.
it claimed a portion of the greatest year of my life so far.

it also claimed a portion of part of one of the more disappointing, hard-learned years of my life.
to such a year a review is in order.

a lesson in distance and a husband-wife relationship
reunion with my favorite; lynette milne (aunt, friend, arch nemesis in word games)
a toddler introduction to her vegas birthplace
an ice castle with carlie and porter. 
a mother's birthday.
a nephew's birthday.

quality time with my much missed family.
a new loneliness for a city.
february
a bone chilling and niece/nephew thrilling laketown visit
basketball, basketball, basketball (via two baller sisters and a phenomenal father coach)
a lesson in the painful power of assumption without the trust of long held communication.
another lesson in the volatility of relationships.
a best friend relationship challenged.
when it seemed impossible- another reason to know my father is the greatest.
reunion with a spouse and a father.
readjustment to living in a megapolis.
a real taste of cut through the clothes coldness.

an introduction to early spring in the big city.

2014 was good most the time. it was bad part of the time. it was full of lessons. grateful for a year of learning. lessons that needed learning even if i didn’t really want to learn them.
