a date hostess named macy's
we went on a family "date" the other night.
mostly it was me wanting to shop and dragging along dale and mary.
34th has shopping galore
any street with 2 h&m's within an avenue of each other is a win.
the crown jewel of this shopping district has to be macy's- (our date site)
the largest department store in the world
9 floors of shopping madness
2.2 million square feet
built in 1901- and a national historic landmark
exploration is a must
here's how macy's will host your date

a greeting by a flower robed lady
a secret garden
and a disgruntled tot
massive cloth flower art
the bouquet of the day
real flowers indeed.
how the rafters looked
on our escalator ascend
escalator, escalator, escalators
(and scandal rule breaking with our stroller on the escalator)
the farther you go up
the more awesome the escalators get
wooden ones from 1902
the first building in the world to have such fancy mobility
our date escalated to the 9th floor
(which is technically the 10 1/2 floor....since there is a 1 1/2 floor....
another exciting/mysterious dating thrill offered by macy's.)
and then we took the elevator/more escalators down.
this joint also includes eating/beverage purchasing opportunities on almost every floor.
besides it's fine display of secret gardens and who knows what else every other season.
and as my mom would say (when entering a large shopping complex), "if macy's don't got it, you don't need it."
happy family dating folks.
