the coincidences of heaven

this post is a bit of a switch up from my norm.
i have been noticing a lot of rather interesting "coincidences". i thought i would share in hopes others might start noticing similar "accidents" in their own lives. here's a small list- that's strangely and beautifully connected.

small towners
a best friend
a meat packing and country store in lewiston
las vegas
a basketball team
my college days

i always knew the world was a small place, but when i moved to nyc it got even smaller. heavens mercy small. here's how the world shrunk.

1. my older sister's classmate and his wife just "happen" to live in ny prior to us moving here. and he just happened to be attending school on the same street dale was going to attend school.... out of hundreds of streets in nyc- and they weren't even going to the same school. todd and chelsea rendered our little family an unselfishness we can never repay. gave dale a place to stay, drove him around, fed him, gave us things to start our new home in ny and all at a very inconvenient time for them.

 forever grateful.

coincidence- no.

2. one woman i met just happened to play college basketball with one of my friends. which also happens to be my sisters sister-in-law.

coincidence-no.

3. another woman in my ward i met is from lewiston, utah. a small town by logan. the same town one of my best friends from college is from. her parents own the meat packing and country store in this small lewiston town.

coincidence-no.

4. we lived in vegas before we came to nyc. vegas has a lot of wards because there are a lot of members of my church that live there. a lot of wards. i meet another woman at my nyc ward. who is from vegas. who grew up in the ward we happened to attend while we lived there. her dad was in the bishopric.

coincidence-no.

5. i attended school at uvu. while there i tried my hand at track. i got to know some of the other sports kids from the school. for some reason the wrestlers and track kids were friends. one of the wrestling boys i knew just happened to be the brother to jessica- my first good friend of nyc, here's the deal though. she/her brother are from lousiana, not utah.

coincidence- no.

6. finally one of my best friends from high school, makell, just moved to to new jersey. one of my favorite people ever. a short train ride to her house.

coincidence- no.

six unrelated coincidences.
which aren't coincidental at all.
i have come to know that god creates each simple coincidence to help us with our situation. being able to relate to someone instantly in a very large, very populated, very far from home city is something irreplaceable. having so many small world instances in one very large city is no accident.
keep your eyes peeled because god is working through "coincidences" in all of your lives as well. small things amount to a lot when the amount your taking on is a lot.
grateful for every coincidence. because i know heaven is close by.
