our lady liberty
of all the things this city has going for it i just can't get over this lovely lady in the harbor.
my only birthday wish this year is to go to the liberty island.
she's beyond lovely from the free staten island ferry but i just can't shake that need to go to her island.
we took another ride on the staten island ferry to check this lady out
she's smaller than you would imagine and pictures make her look even smaller but she's huge in her grandeur
that harbor may as well have one thing and one thing only because I can't help stare at all that beauty in green
she's top of the list for me
here's how our trip went down

here's how our trip went down
my two favorite ladies meet
hints and tips to seeing the statue of liberty for free
1. it's going to look like there are a million people waiting for the ferry- there are- we all fit comfortably so don't see the crowd and think about waiting for the next one.
2. when you get on the ferry just walk on and sit down outside at the back of the boat. i thought the best view was going to the side of the ship but the back gives you the best view and less people choose it. plus you get this crazy view of the city and the statue of liberty in one and it's something else.
3. do be patient when taking pictures- i always get so excited i start taking pictures to soon and then i don't get to check her out and i don't get the best picture i could.
4. the best pictures (i have come to find out) come on the trip over. i would suggest taking pictures on the way over and then just taking in the view on the way back.
5. wait awhile to get off the boat. they announce they are getting ready to dock way in advance so people line up and then you end up waiting forever to get off. just sit back and relax.
6. even if you are just riding it over and back you have to get off one ship and get on another- just to warn you.
this is one trip you best make.
it is something else.
