brunch

i've never partaken of an official "brunch".
i've had brunch many a time- if i consider the time of day and the eating i did;
but gone to a place and ordered off a brunch menu- never.
so when my friend anna kindly offered us a brunch deal she was unable to use when she visited; i was pumped up.
i've secretly always wanted to have brunch-
when i see people sitting in restaurants, around brunch time, lightly nibbling, in their best threads, i long to participate.
my chance came this saturday.
i had the crew dress up a little bit more than usual.
i made reservations.
and at 11 a.m. we arrived at our brunching location.
a rooftop joint.
they didn't open on time, but hey i am available for brunching from 11-3 so it was fine.
here's how brunch goes.
our brunch view
mary liked every seat but our real seat
and since it was on a roof top, and it had rained recently, these cushions were not person ready.
we had ourselves some virgin pina coladas
mary drank most of it.
our best attempt at a picture.......
 what we ordered-
everything must be breakfast/lunchafied for brunch i guess....
i wasn't too impressed with my burger- i need to stop getting burgers- i have high farm girl standards.
the fries were great
and the avocado
and egg...
 dale's was pretty delicious though.
oh we had a small basket of pastries too.
basket=2 pastries (just so i don't forget what size a "basket" is in nyc)
they were delicious- that was mares second favorite part (second to the beverage)
the view was really quite something.
that teeny bruncher tho.
i like brunch.
when i can own big hats,
and go to horse races,
and perhaps pick up golf for fun,
then i will partake in brunch every weekend.
until that time i thank anna for giving us the opportunity.
it was a fine breakfast-lunch of a saturday on a rooftop.

hope this weekend has been fancy for all of you.
here's to a  new week!
