blast from the u.s. open past

the u.s. open
one fine sporting event
we almost missed it
but my father, a die hard tennis fan, talked me into getting tickets and making it happen
glad he did
 the golden tickets
quarterfinals for a thrift price
 here's the venue
*we got the rafter seats for the view*
mares wore her dress in honor of the sport
she also respected the no cheering until point end rule
silence in an arena is one of the few things i have ever (not) heard

we checked out the grounds as a family pack
old school world's fair paraphernalia
-i wore hot pink in hopes my family could see me on t.v.-
here's the globe on it's own
the grand view from our good seats
last match we got to see
the mecca of sister duos
serena and venus williams
4th row because it was in a smaller court (first come first serve)
we had ourselves a cheap hot dog and pretzel
checked out everything the grounds had to offer
were not disappointed by hours of the finest tennis in the world
saw some spectacular views
flushing is quite the hot spot
thanks dad for talking me into going-
hoping it will motivate my die hard country father to a visit.....
pretty sure it's the most monumental sporting event i have ever gone too
