a birthday

yesterday was my favorite day of the year. (ok it may be rivaled by christmas and potentially easter.)
but i am a huge birthday fan- my birthday, a family members, a friends, a strangers. i love birthdays.
my plan was to throw a parade (since that seems common occurrence in nyc)
but alas it rained on my potential parade so i cancelled the whole deal.
also cancelled on account of the rain was a bike ride, a trip to the top of the esb, and my long held bday classic-- a roller blade ride.
as a substitute i went shopping- - without a kid. (it was glorious)
i perused isle after isle and i took my sweet time in the dressing room. birthday heaven.
i ate myself sick on all my favorite foods. (thanks aunt lyn for the package)
i gave cupcakes another try- and once again they did not live up to their hype or price tag.
then the grand finale-
my first movie (thanks to my greatest of friends jessica)
my first movie in reclining chairs
my first taxi ride.... i know right!?!
and my first late, late night out on the town.

it was a fine birthday.
my go to phrase, "i'm on birthday vacation." and thanks to a good husband it was a mini me day vacation.
