easter in nyc
this easter was a bit more uneventful than i had hoped.
we came down with a nasty sickness that bedded us for about 4 days.
our initial plan was to go to boston and watch carlie (my brother's wife) run the boston marathon- but no luck.
so we stayed home, slept, blew our noses raw, drank orange juice in unnatural quantities, watched a sickening amount of random t.v., and wallowed in our inability to be human.
we found ourselves a few chance opportunities to be festive- despite being depressed about missing a little friend easter egg hunt, the bonnet parade on 5th avenue, and an outside egg hunt.
regardless of missing these fine events the real joy of this season is the reason for it.
here are a few pics of how this lovely holiday played out for us.
saturday april 19th
grateful for easter.
grateful for a brother, Christ, that knows everything and is in every good thing.
grateful he never lets us down.
grateful we have these lovely holidays to take some time to more deeply ponder life because of him.
happy belated easter everyone.

saturday april 19th
first we colored some lovely ovals
mary was more impressed than pictured
(but this picture was just too sweet)
here she is in her true egg coloring spirit
she even tried her hand at clear crayon coloring a couple of eggs
when she became violent and started destroying all eggs she touched she lost crayon privileges
***teeny baby paws***
mama bunny and baby bunny
angry papa bunny
one of my long held easter family traditions is an event called rolling eggs
after you have colored those lovely skewed globes
you taken them to an impressively large hill
and you let them roll down
we had to introduce mary to such a fine event- so we did at central park
now during my childhood we went to a sand castle
we built awesome tracks with jumps and tunnels
to build these sweet tracks our father pulled us down hills on our bums
after our eggs were beat to yoke we would have an egg fight for the ages
easter is one of my favorite holidays
thank you mom and dad and siblings too
mare had a taste for the holiday roll
her hill was not so massive
her eggs only rolled about a foot
she remedied the no roll issue
we tagged team throwing the eggs
she tried to eat a few
(oh teeny lambs leg- - aka snot nose neglect... but this pic was too much)
then mary went rogue
and the egg roll came to its finale
sunday april 20th
we attended a lovely church meeting
following church we had a tiny easter egg hunt in our apt.
we had a cousin (emma) join us all the way from las vegas nevada!
it was our easter dream come true
then we finished the night with a slumber party
(this made a mama's heart go***)
it was the finest of easter's despite being sick.
i will always love this holiday.
