tudor city

we decided to take a jaunt on the east side of manhattan
it's a bit foreign to us- and honestly it is a wee bit harder to navigate due to only one subway line transversing that area.
we made a day trip out of it and meandered around to random places.
while walking we saw these huge stairways leading to a park.
mary was getting a bit antsy so a park couldn't have come at a more perfect time
we walked up to find a city built on top of the city....
called tudor city.
it's the first skyscraper residential area in the world.
since 1988 this area has been known as a nyc historical area.
the gardens were once golf courses, world famous tennis courts, and were flooded for ice skating-
nowadays you may recognize it from movies like: the godfather part III, spiderman I-III, scarface, and the borne ultimatum.
here's what we beheld:
the view from mid tudor city
then tudor city had this park and this unreal lighting for pic taking
(no filtering or additives required)
city on city is always something crazy to see.
down one stairway on the east side of this city is the united nations (more on that later).
one of the best parts about this place was mary had an entire park to herself for quite awhile.
we have more seeing to see on this east side.
happy easterly explorations to all of you as well.
