a gotham halloween

halloween had 2 parts. halloween social for the tot, then nyc street halloween. i never liked halloween much, but nyc has a way of making my unfavored holidays appealing.

here's how it renewed my hope in halloween.
one whole street dedicated to halloween.
blocked off for hours at a time.
just for kids to trick or treat.

our favorite brownstones on the block=

anyone that does this with balloons gets respect
mares is unimpressed with my scare tactics
still unafraid
the rats are the creepiest (because around here they really come that size)
the finest halloween decor
papa zombie, "i eat brains for breakfast."
"yum," says mini zombie
this little "chicken" (as mistakenly identified by a passerby- - city folk...) loves block parties
group shot!
 funniest animal costume award.....
mares coloring made it on the wall at trader joe's!!
(it's the one that looks uncolored)
-yes she did do it by herself-
grand finale=empire state building light show coordinated to halloween classics
first time ever this has happened
had one of the finest seats in the house at bryant park
(although unapparent from the pic quality)
you can watch it here
mary mostly but also nyc revived my hope in halloween- - who can't appreciate teeny kids dressed in animal costumes finding pure joy from candy overload and fellow creatures. also the adults can be entertaining- especially when driving customized halloween cars.
gotham does halloween real right.
