brooklyn botanical garden cherry blossoms
this spring has been a real treat.
maybe i just haven't been paying attention every other spring;
maybe the contrast between winter and spring is just extra extreme here;
perhaps it's on account of nature being compacted into small areas due to concrete running this town;
but it's been a wonder.
a splendor really.
it's vowing for my favorite season of the year. (and that's a lofty title to compete for)
yesterday we feasted our eyes on the brooklyn botanical garden.
here's how this spring adventure went down.

when you exit the 2/3 subway line at eastern parkway this is the view you get
mary needed to discover
she paid no mind to other adventurers
a girls school group stopped to take pictures.... it was endearing
a random stranger feared for her life during this picture
i took it anyway- actually i took about 10
a cherry blossom teaser
crabapple tree renamed to frolic forest
mary learned to sniff things via jessica
it was all the rage after that moment
oak trees mmmm
then the grand finale
stop. the. beauty.
basking in blossom glory
toddler attempting to jump = mama joy heart explosion
her tot crew
trying to force hug the gentleman of the bunch
if a hug doesn't work try a hand hold
when depressed from hug/hand hold denial
hunt down a random stranger with pretzels
and creepily follow them around and stare at them until they share
after pretzel depression cure
pose for selfie with a mama
mary i love you my mary
it was the loveliest of days.
i don't know if i have ever seen something quite like this before.
perhaps i need to frequent more orchards/tree stands.
this was breathtaking.
heavenly.
glorious.
beautiful.
gorgeous.
perfect.
here's hoping spring is bringing similar beauty to all of you.
happy first week of may folks.
