heckscher playground central parking

it's been raining the past couple days. 

my favorite city may be a rainy city but it dampens our park going ability.

our favorite park is central park..... (everyone's right?)

within central park is our favorite playground- heckscher playground. 

we frequent this place. 

a few interesting facts about our favorite hangout joint

-oldest playground in central park

-built in 1927

-biggest playground of 21 in the park

-covers 1.8 acres

-it was the first part of central park to be philanthropically funded by a private donor.

-august heckscher was the philanthropist.

this place has a ton of slides, swings, a sandbox, a cement maze, a splash pad, and rubberized hill and crater.
it's a kids paradise.
a mother/father workout.
and sometimes so crazy you avoid it even though it has all the goods.
today we are wishing we could tackle this playground
til it dries out we will look longingly at pictures.
